I currently have compact flourescents but I'm not getting as much nice flourescent colors with my corals as I was when I had T5's. I want more "pop" out of the corals so if I add some regular blue LEDs, like ones you can get for a x-mas tree and add them onto my fixture would that add more pop or is it a special kind of blue light that makes the colors come out? I don't have the money at the moment for fancy blue lighting, maybe later on, but for now would this work?

Someone may have a little more info then me but from experience I have tried making my own leds to get that coral to pop and its a pain in the butt!! I would say unless you can find a high power led kit i wouldnt hassle with it. Your going to need something with a little more watts then what a christmas light led would put off

Low power LED's won't have enough output to make a difference...they will be completely washed out/overpowered by you PC bulbs. The concept will work, you'll just need to find something with a bit more output.
