Can i do my self a wet/dry filter sump ???

    Can i do my self a wet/dry filter sump ???
    i want to cancel my top filter and make a sump to put the skimmer in it ????
    what do u suggest to me ????
    how to make it myself .... ( how to get water from display tank to sump and how to get water from sump to tank )
    30 gal tank

    I would recommend going with the largest sump you can fit in your stand. What size is your display tank.

    Just get whatever size you can fit, I personally like 20 gallon longs as sumps.

    If your tank is not drilled you will need to buy an overflow. Eshopps makes one, there are some other brands.

    Then you will need buy a pump to pump water back into your display tank.

    can i use two pumps instead of the overflow ... ( what about if elec. current cut off )

    You wouldnt want to use a pump for the overflow, its unreliable and if it were to go out or clog or something then your display tank would overflow. Even if you didnt have to worry about those issues, the two pumps wouldnt flow the same rate due to head loss on the return pump.

    Get the eshopps overflow. I had one for over a year of my 55 and never really had any issues.
