    Hey Guys,

I have 0 experience with anemones, so I need your help. I would like to pick up a RBTA for my tank and want to know what the chances are that it will survive.

I have a 46 gallon bowfront with quad 39W T5's. My bulbs are: 2 ATI Blue+, 1 ATI Aquablue Special, and 1 KZ Fiji Purple. I also have a pretty solid amount of flow.

The last thing I want to do is buy one and have it die on me. It's not good for the environment and it's not good for my wallet ;D

I would suggest you do some serious research on their care before buying one to make sure you can meet their needs.

You do need to have a stable environment in your tank. If you have not kept your parameters stable for a few months then hold off until you can get them under control.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
IMO you're good to go with that lighting.

If you want to take the gamble go for it. Get one with good coloration, tightly closed oral opening and sticky to the touch.

Allow the anemone time to acclimate before feeding.
Monitor placement and cover power heads and protect overflows as needed.

    Good luck and have fun.

I thoroughly understand the care needs, but I was just worried about my lighting as MH's are typically recommended. I have a pretty good reef set-up with softies, LPS, and SPS, so I ensure all my params are spot on with tests for Ammonia, Nitrates, Nitrites, Phosphate, Cal, Mag, Alk, pH.

Excellent and T5HO are just as effective as MH for providing needed energy. Good luck and enjoy.

my tank before this one was a 58 gallon with 8 HO 39watt T'5 and i had a rose in it that did well. it liked the middle of the tank. so yours would probably like it around the top.
i have a rose in this tank i have now and it hides from the LED light a bit.
so i don't see you having a problem. just place it in the middle of the rocks and let it move up or down to where it likes the light.

i noticed your in philiadephia, its a shame you didn't say you wanted one sooner, i just took some splits off of mine to a local fish store. splits are the best to get if you can find them, they are tank grown so already used to it and have a greater survival rate IMO.

I think you would be fine, I get mine tomoro and I have about the same setup and everyone tells me that the lighting is sufficient. Just make sure you keep your water changes frequent because anemones like stable water with no toxins.

Also another easy anemone you can get are the condys, I have one and he does great and look cool IMO

Thanks! I'm not 100% sure I'm going to "pull the trigger", but wanted to get some feedback before making a final decision.

Woah no haha condies are the worst to get. They need really high lighting and can eat fish. Bubbles are much better
