BUT; if the idea passes your mind again you should look into a min max, very very easy going as far as nemo go no clown will host it(as far as I have read) but sexy will. the two i have live among polyp and 2 small stool in one corner.

Another option is a tube anemone. They stay put and Ive had no problems with fish or other corels.
Just read up on them before you get it so you know what youre getting into.

Here's mine. It called a pink tube enemone.

Sounds like your setup to handle one tank wise. Do you run a skimmer? In a 30 gallon, I would stick to BTA if you were to consider a hosting nem. And while I would not define a BTA as "easy" they are typically much more tolerant than a hosting carpet, long tentacle or malu. As far as maxi-minis and rock flowers go, you shouldn't have any issues keeping them healthy if you are keeping acros healthy. As you know these are smaller, non-hosting nems but they can and will catch and eat small fish and pretty much anything else that blunders into them. Same goes for hosting nems and you should be prepared to lose fish as a result of adding any nem. The maxi-mini and flowers really don't tend to move at all once they settle into a spot they like which is nice.

A stock koralia cover will not provide enough protection for any nem that gets too close. These animals are pretty much completely filled with water and are very fragile. Panty hose type material is a good screen cover for powerheads but they need to be cleaned often. Once a nem is in place and you keep it happy and are careful not to change their setting too quickly (noew lighting/bulbs, changing flow patters by moving PHs and a normal feeding schedule, they will pretty much stay where they are. There are obviously no guarantees and your nem could be in one place for years and then up and decide to take a walk. Just one of the many risks to consider when adding a nem to a reef tank.

As for nuking your tank. Unless you just flat out ignore your tank, you will know when a nem is in trouble and as long as it is not allowed to rot in the tank, you shouldn't have any concerns with this.

Edit: I'm an idiot. Only read "page 1" and didn't see the other pages. Nevermind, sounds like you're off the nem market :).

i don't know about stinging everything they come in contact with since mine don't move around. i will say that my BTAs are one of the few animals in my tank that have been able to stop my green star polyps from expanding. Even if i didn't already love them, i would love them just for keeping the GSP out of the right side of my tank. now if i could just train one of them to move over to the left side of the GSP...... :)
