can i get this fish?

Sunrise Dottyback - Tank-Bred (Pseudochromis flavivertex)
i have a yellowhead jawfish in the tank. im moving the jawfish from my 29 to a 40 breeder next week. i would like to have both in the 40.

 

With the information provided, I do not see why not.

When liveaquaria list them as semi-aggressive, with dottybacks I tend to error on the side of caution and assume it will be aggressive as it matures. It is a pretty fish, hopefully it's mellower than the average dottyback.

im just wondering bc the jawfish and dottyback like to burrow

 

Dottybacks burrow?
I wouldn't get it, just cuz dooties are jerks and you won't be able to add anything else to the 10 without it getting abused.

 

I think it would work but in my experience all the dottys I have had were mean and couldnt really add any other fish after it was added

Jawfish, Yellowhead (Opistognathus aurifrons)
Royal Gramma Basslet (Gramma loreto)
Flame Angelfish (Centropyge loriculus)
Firefish, Purple (Nemateleotris decora)
Starry Blenny (Salarias ramosus)
Kaudern's Cardinal (Pterapogon kauderni)

 

I'm no expert, but I'm pretty sure you'd have problems with the blenny and jawfish since they both hang around the sand/rock.

IMO i think tank raised dottybacks are a different story, i had a pair of orchid dottybacks in my 58 gallon and i have a pair in this tank, both times they have been great. i have not seen aggression in these fish, as a matter of fact the one helfrichi firefish hangs out side of the one dottybacks home. and thats the home of the male who often has a bubble nest to guard

oh and in my 58 gallon i had 2 pearly jawfish with the 2 orchid dottybacks, i have found them to be fine together

see the orchids right next to the firefish. firefish is one of the most docile fish there is

 

Dottybacks do not burrow. But will sometimes evict other fish from theres.
