    definitely don't go with the sand sifting star then if you don't have much sand. It will just bury itself..starve..and die. I think that a serpent star is your best bet. They primarily eat detritus but you can supplement their diet with pieces of shrimp and such.

    That's the one! Sea stars and starfish are the same thing. Whichever term you prefer to use!
