    i wanna get a blue chin trigger:

    but i have this:

    i read some where that trigger fish chew on clams to help with there teeth or something like that.

    does that mean they eat big live clams too? the clam is about 5 1/2"

    They eat Urchins too.

    I'd say since all the triggers say not reef safe, prob no, ya can wait for someone that has one to chime in! But that clam would make for one expensive snack!

    all teh books and articles ive read about the blue chin says that its reef safe, just not invert safe. all i ahve invert wise is one cleaner shrimp and that clam i suppose

    I've had a blue throat trigger before with inverts and he didn't touch either one. The secret I was told was to have your CUC in place first,. Adding a blue throat, cross hatch, sargassum, or pink tail trigger is doable. Those species of triggers are suppose to be the most reef safe but not all triggers are created equally.

    and the trigger will be one of my last two additions to the tank. before or after i add a FoxFace Rabbit fish!

    I would think it would probably eat the clam. Its listed on Liveaquaria as part of its diet. Keep in mind also this fish needs a 125 gallon aquarium or larger.
