My two current Tangs have been in the tank since March and I was wondering if it was too late to add a Clown Tang. If so what would be the best size to try to get so everyone gets along my Hippo is about 4" and the Whitecheek is about 7"

Tangs from the Acanthrus Family get too big for a 125. Even if you put a small one in there and you put him in last, it would probably eventually beat up on your other tang. Beyond that, you likely don't have enough algae to keep 3 tangs grazing all day.

I wouldn't do it in anything under a 240 with other larger fish that can fend for themselves long term. But thats just my views on a fish that gets 15" and more aggressive as it matures and needs loads of room to roam around . . . someone on this forum has one in a 30 or 40 gallon tank.

Sheesh!!! A full grown one in an 850 I know of beats the living daylights out of even bigger fish. Mean little bugger.

Not only do they get big, they are difficult to get to eat in captivity.

I do know a guy locally (on 3reef as well) that has a smaller clown tang in an aggressive 125g tank. The tang in question was at the LFS for months and ate well.

Yea, the one i tried to keep literally refused to eat, swam into a cave and then died in a couple of days... despite being sweet at the shop.
