    can i mix clowns in a 190?

i currently have a 4 month old maroon in my 22 G. i'm moving to a 190 G in maybe 2 weeks. waiting for it to cycle.. i'm planning to add a pair of saddleback clowns ;D the current maroon has a bulb tip that it seldom wanders far of from it. will they tolerate each other? :-/

In my 180, i have a pair of maroons, pair of black percs and a pair of tomatos, they seldon fight. Maybe once a week they wonder around the tank and other then that they stay at there homes and dont bother each other. Its been 3 months and all fish look great and are healthy.

wow that is awesome news! did you get your maroon as a pair or did you pair it up later? my maroon's turning female, he/she's my favourite fish , hope to get a partner for her soon :cheesy: do all your clowns have their own anemones?

one more question, how many fishes do you have in your 180 so far?

Heck, I have a very territorial 6" maroon clown in my 90g with 2 BTA's, and she actually is friendly toward the ocellaris I have. Granted the ocellaris has yet to try to host in the maroon's anemones.

    You will be fine.

I have an Anthias 120 set-up and I introduced my existing pair of True Perculas at the same time as a new pair of black clowns. They seemed to get on OK - while the lights were on, that is. By cover of darkness, the Perculas were clearly hounding the black clowns and both ended up taking a suicidal trip down the weir... I managed to rescue them both once but on the second occasion, there was nothing I could do as they had slipped half way down the Bio Balls...
So in my experience, mixing didn't work. That said, I'm aware of various keepers who have successfully managed it. It's probably more luck than judgement and if you've got somewhere to keep a pair in the case of major fall-out, then I'd give it a go.
One last point, I was told by various people that to have the best chance of success, it was best to introduce both pairs at the same time...

I have a Tomato and an Ocellaris in my 72g. The Ocellaris for the most part stays about 4 inches away from the Tomato and his anemone. The Ocellaris has never shown any interest in the anemone and thats why I added the Tomato. The two get along just fine. They will occasionally stare each other down but I have never seen any chasing or fin nipping. They are both still small. I'm not sure what will happen when the Tomato grows up. Maroons are supposed to be a lot more aggressive.

In my 220 which is the same foot print of your 180 just a few inches taller I have a large maroon, 3 black and 2 true percs. There is not much in the way of fighting unless someone tries to host something already hosted. I have seen maybe 3-4 fights total and its minor. My wife loves clowns and has just kept adding. I actuall had 2 other true percs that died in an ich battle so I think you will be safe.
