I've recently had a Chalk Bass die due to complication of Popeye.
So I'm thinking about getting another smaller fish.

I'm kind of looking at a Six-Line, but I hear they're a tad aggressive, and I'm not sure if they can mix with other Wrasses.

I have a Mystery Wrasse who kind of bosses around my other 2 small fish, a Purple Firefish and a Pink Anthias. Nothing major, but he chases them around a little from time to time.

Would these 2 Wrasses get along you think?

I'm also thinking maybe a pair of black clowns. Which would probably work better, but in my experience clowns just live in the top 2 inches of the tank and it's like they're not even there.

    Thanks as always.

No, that won't work, as we're talking about two of the Pseudocheilinus genus.

    Pseudocheilinus

The mystery is general the most aggressive of the genus. I would not add any additional wrasse of any type of genus with one.

Wrasses of other genus can be mixed, but the Pseudocheilinus genus is whole different ballgame.

will it change everything tho if the six line was introduced first in the tank then the mystery later?

reason i ask is i have both in my 90g and they get along pretty fine with no aggressiveness towards each other. the six line was introduced at first and then the mystery. the six line showed aggressiveness towards the mystery at first and got along after a couple of days later. they sometimes swim along side each other with no aggression.

Given enough space, it is possible for two unlikely species to get along; but IMHO, if one knows there's a risk, it's not a safe or healthy practice to put them together as there is never a guarantee.

Even if the mystery is the most aggressive of the genus, the six line is also very aggressive towards other Pseudocheilinus wrasses, so there will likely still be fighting.

I wouldn't do it unless they were added at the same time. wrasses can get quite territorial.

Just curious - what size is your tank? Your experience with clowns is not my experiance - my guys (before anemone ) swam all around - now with the anemone they hang out in the anemone.
Sorry to hear about the loss of your chalk bass - very cool fish

If evolved says no - go with it - he has a ton of experiance

Just to add a +1, I can tell you it won't work out... Especially since the mystery was in there first.
If you want a wrasse may I suggest one from the halichoeres genus. I have found they are ususally always well behaved.

Thanks guys, I think I'll pass on the 6 Line, maybe not get anything.

    It's 60G
They were the first 2 fish in the tank, and in there for maybe 2-3 weeks by themselves even and never came down from the top.
I mean they did, but they spent 95% of their time in the top corner or behind the Skimmer overflow area.

Then they both jumped out eventually :-/
Through the one tiny spot that wasn't covered of course.
