Can I put my mantis in my fuge?

Hey so this is what im thinking...

20 long, divided into 2 chambers

chamber 1- my 4 inch wennerae mantis

chamber 2- decorator crab

the baffle in the middle will run from the bottom to the top with weirs

chamber 1 i will have a dsb/ mangroves / pvc for mantis

chamber 2 i will have dsb/ chaeto/ caulerpa/ gracilaira and some rock for crab

at the end i will have a baffle with weirs at the top followed by a bulkhead where water will go to my sump via gravity

so what do ya guys think? see any potential problems? any ideas on inverts rather than a decorator?

 

That sounds awesome. I have some similar stuff going on in mine. One chamber houses a sebae anemone and two clowns because it outgrew my DT.

You should give it a paint job to hide the areas you don't want displayed.

im excited! i think that it will look really neat when it is complete but i want to hear some suggestions/ changes to the system you guys have like what mikejrice did!

Would the mantis eat pods? I'm talking the larger amphopods not copapods. Another concern is wouldn't the waste from the shrimp defeat the purpose of having the fuge?

 

i do not believe that stomatopods eat amphopods.. im sure jwin will pop in here soon and let us know

and hmm what do you mean about waste defeating the fuge? am i missing something? i thought i knew fuges front and back but i guess not!? enlighten me
