fuges are meant to lower waste not rise it. he means that if you have a mantis in there wouldnt it make you water params worse not better. i thought that too.

One mantis shrimp isn't going to affect it that badly. It would be the same as adding a mantis to the DT. A couple of mangroves and chaeto will easily offset it.

I think you are nuts and absolutely crazy like a fox on this one. Sounds like a great setup.

i will... ive been lazy with my other builds and never made a good thread but i promise to make this one good. and yeah i was a bit confused there, detrius is detrius regardless of where it is in the system.

I guess I didnt clearly state what I was thinking, sorry. You'r going to have to feed the mantis which is going to create additional waste in your system. I guess it doesnt matter if its in your fuge or your DT to be honest. It just ends up making your fuge a DT and not really a fuge. Either way it sounds like a cool idea, I just wish my fuge were more visable. I might consider the same setup =)

yeah i understand what you're saying. it sounds weird to put waste in the area meant to lower its chemicals but oh well. be sure to check out my build thread once i get it going!
