Seahorses should be in a species tank as they do not compete well for food, especially against fish.

They are too slow and not so great swimmers, they do best in a setup made just for them with low flow rates. And you do know that no tang belongs in a 30g tank?,it will cause stress and disease and ultimately the death of the fish.Just a friendly heads up.

They most likely won't survive. Seahorses need special care, including the feeding regimen, that cannot be provided properly in a community fish tank.

I don't think you should be adding anything to your 30g tank. Instead, you need to upgrade to a larger tank for the fish you already have.
THEN you can use the 30g tank for a pair of seahorses, after you have at least leave it fishless for a couple of months, or to sterilize the system using bleach, changing the water afterwards, and recycling the tank.
As already mentioned, seahorses do have specific needs, and while occasionally someone posts about success with seahorses in non recommended set ups, the odds are so far against success you are basically dooming the seahorse to it's death by trying. Even doing everything right is no guarantee of being successful.
You can check out the links at the bottom of the "My Thoughts....." link in my signature for most basics of what you should know to keep seahorses, and after that if you have any further questions you can ask specific points.

+1. As said prior seahorses are VERY difficult and slow feeders. They need to be in a species only tank. Can it be done........yes you can put whatever you want in the tank. SHOULD IT BE DONE.............NO! It will slowly starve itself to death. I actually had a seahorse in my main tank when i first started the hobby. Did what so many of us in this hobby do when we start, we buy something because we just like it and want it. I only had the seahorse for a couple weeks when it died:cry:

Since then, I have kept a couple seahorses in a species only tank and have learned a lot about them. They are a lot of work and you must have a source of live food available at all times, because eventually for some unknown reason, most seahorses will just stop eating prepared food for a period of time. I had a brine shrimp breeder going the whole time I kept them.

The other thing is most species of seahorses prefer colder water tanks then most reefs can handle.

Tropical seahorses don't "prefer" colder water. We aim to keep the temperature cooler than they would be found at in their normal habitat because in a captive system that we place them in, nasty bacterial are also contained and when the temperatures rise, the bacteria multiply exponentially with each rising degree.
Experience has shown that a range from 68° to 74° works best even though some have success with warmer temperatures.

As for seahorses stopping eating frozen, it's not common except when they stop eating anything and then that requires hospitalization and treatment.
Wildcaught ones sometimes would stop eating frozen, but there aren't too many of those being sold now.

Besides the SH info which is right on, you're gonna need to be thinking about re-homing your tang and your BF in the not-to-distant future.

As for the clowns...nasty little damsels in fancy PJ's that would harrass the SH.

Just outta curiosity, why is this in the invert forum? SH are fish...
