Can I put this on top of an acrylic tank?

    Long as the top is clean and predominately scratch free.

    You will be fine I have the same thing around the top of my tank and I have had t5's and now MH over my tank with no problems at all.

    It will be fine if you just use the legs that come with the fixture or if you want you can hang it. Its up to you ;D

    I just got rid of that light. Ok for LPS, but don't even think about SPS. You're better off spending more money for an AquaticLife. it will have more power and comes with a built in timer
