Can I reuse kalk????

    Hey can i reuse the kalk slush thats in the bottom of my ATO, i mixed 5 teaspoons in a 5 gallon bucket for my top off.. Its getting pretty close to empty, can I, and if so, how many times do people refill their ATOs that use kalk before they change it all out and start with new

    I'd just dump the slurry if it were me and I use Ms. Wages pickling lime which is cheap to begin with. I think the potency would be way lowered but I could be wrong.

    Well, yes and no. Kalk has a saturation point, so any extra will just settle out of solution. So, this is most likely just that. However, kalk has impurity, but is self-purifying. Impurities such as copper and other metals will settle into this slurry as well. If you mix it and let is settle overnight, before use, then the impurities should settle out of solution again. However, over time, this slurry will become more and more impure, so, you won't want to keep doing it indefinitely. Out of laziness, I sometimes will re-use once or twice, but that's it.
