When I thought I had fleas this summer (didn't, thank goodness!) I did a lot of research about flea bombing, and everything I read said that the bombs will harm fish and fish should be moved out of the house. I don't know about if you cover them up really well...

i don't know if it's the same as tenting a house for termites, but when we tented it we had to move my fish and reptile tanks out of the house because the toxins would kill them. So if it's anything like that i bet it won't be safe for your tank to stay in the house

its ok i would cover the tank with a plastic tarp and and a blanket on top of that (lights off of coarse) turn off skimmer and any other air injecting equipment

thanks for replying so soon, i guess i shouldnt mess around with it and resort to other ways in dealing with the problem.

after hearing that, its not worth the risking the lifes of my beautiful corals and fish.

check Lowes or Home Depot they have baits that come in the form of gel type paste that you dab in hotspots also try to find how they are getting in,in the first place and solve that problem good luck dad works for Terminex.

I did this when I got my house sprayed by an exterminator and no harm came to anything. In addition to covering the tank, you can also put an air pump outside and connect it to an airstone in the tank so that you can have fresh air pumped into the system while your treating the house.

I don't think spraying is as bad as a bomb. The bombs (or foggers) just shoot out a real fine vapor that floats every where, where as spraying is more directed to just the area being sprayed. Seems it would be real easy for any of the vapor to get in the tank. I'm no bug expert, just don't think I would risk it.

I bombed my house without any ill effects. I covered everything up with plastic ( trash bags) then put heavy blankets ontop of that. Everything was fine when it was done.
could have been just lucky. But I wouldn't hesitate again to do it.
