Hello all, ok, so i have a 55gal reef tank with about 100lbs of rock. its been up for little under 2 years. I have 1 sailfin blenny, 1 firefish, 2 true percula (1-1.5 in) one 2 in wrasse or goby lol...idk ok 2 clown gobies and 2 scooterdragonets. i was wondering if i could add a barnacle blenny...i know it sounds like i have alot of fish, but really the only swimming fish r the wrasse/goby lol and the clowns, the firefish is very scared and hides alot...lol i like fish that perch :) so in your opinion should i leave it alone of can i add the small fish like clown gobies and other small fish...i dont think they take up much room and give alot of waste...but thats just my opinion :) thanks :)

It sounds like you've got a lot of load for a 55 gallon tank. But then I've always been one for very light fish loads in reef tanks. I had less fish load in my 180 than you have in your 55 :)

    Bruce,
I may have an answer for you about your firefish. I had 2 and they were always out and about, very active and very close. I lost one of them a couple weeks ago and the other one now spends all of his/her/it's time under a rock in the sand. Pokes his head out just far enough to grab some food as it floats by, but that's it. The firefish is a schooling fish and does best in groups. I plan to get 2 more for company, but alas my LFS has been having trouble getting them for me. Like you I love the perching fish like the scooter and spotted hawkfish. I have about the same load as you and have no problems, chemistry is great.
