so instead of matching the flow rate of my return pump with the overflow box, my overflow eshopp is rated at 1200, im using a 500gph return pump which at height is probs only 300gph, to supplement the flow im using to koralia 3 800gps in my 180,

so can i use the koralia for flow, and a small return pump to get rid of the gurgling sound in my overflow box? is there any reprocussions to this? i know itll make it easier on my refugium too with the lower flow. the display tank to sump cycling will be slow, but the dt will have normal flow

Get a piece of airline tubing. Put it down the drain on the overflow box. Once you find the length that makes the sound go away, clamp it at that height.

works like a charm basicly its a siphon brake . the gurgleing is the water return speeding up and slowing down once the water gets going so fast it will pull a ton of air in with it the air causes the siphon affect to brake . the airline tube works simaler to how a stink pipe in your roof works
