I have a Eclipse 5 gallon aquarium that I have at work currently with Guppies in Fresh Water. It has a mini Heater and a bio wheel comb with regular lighting that comes witht the Eclipse. Can I convert this to Saltwater using my same basic setup? Do you have to use Actinics and Daylights? I would like to put about 8 Pounds of LS and a 5 pound piece of LR. And I will just be able to pull water out of a setup tank to keep the cycle small. I would like to put a CUC in there and add maybee 2 clowns and some corals. Does anyone see a problem with me doing this?

I wouldnt put 2 clowns in a 5 gallon. way to small for that. maybe 1 smaller fish would be a better idea.

or no fish. ubt if you do fish then you would need to find one smaller one. you could do a clam tank with corals. clams are the life of the party if you ask me!!!

Some zoas and a nice neon gobie would be fun, or a clown gobie. Cleaner shrimp possibly too :) Would put a little life in the 5g.

i'd check out nano-reef.com they have ALOT of info on picos u can def. have a goby pistol shrimp pair in there i've seen it done countless times for atank that size etc. theres a few other nano fish u could put in there, take it slow with a nano tho, they need alot of attention because of how unstable they can be if you slack off

yes, remember the smaller the tank, the harder it would be to manage params. There is little room for error in that small of a tank. Best of luck!
