    you know what gets me.

how carib sea can charge so much. i saw this place where you gan order enough sand to do a volleyball court in aragonite sand. it was like .50 a pound. but you had to order a ridiculous amount.

the get even more for the wet sand :). haha i cant blame them. i fell for it. (bought a 5lb bag to "seed" my dry sand, like the 40lbs of live rock wouldnt work)

I’m using play sand from wal-mart in my pico. I hade the usual diatom bloom, but a few snails took care of that.
The bag said “kolor scape” but the price tag over it said “old castle”

I am gonna pass on that sand and get rockos. I read some of the reviews and they are not satisfying. I want to do it right.

When I was into FW, i tried all sort of play sand and there was such a wide variance in quality. The main thing you have to becareful are the smaller glass particles present in some of them. You could always try out pool filter sand as well. A bit better quality and slightly more expensive. btw - petsolutions just had a phenomenal sale where you get $15 gift certificate on all orders over $100. I had to load up on a bunch of salt mixes (which also had an additional $5 gift certificate) and ended up getting 150lbs of aragonite sand for only ~$50 (with free shipping at that too!). I think the offers are over now though. :(
