Can it be done SPS in a RSM?

    i have a stock Red Sea Max. i was wondering if the stock lights would support sps corals. maybe softies on the bottom and sps on the top? anyone have a rsm currently running with sps coral?

    I have a few customers with RSM, it will support some SPS but you will not get the rapid growth and color your looking for in them, most of the coral they have is LPS (para davisa, hydnophora, kenya, leathers etc.) pretty decent tanks though. :)

    I grew M.Digitata and M.Capricornis under PCs and had great growth and color, stick with the easy montis and you will be fine.
    Put them toward the top and understand that you will not be getting stags and other higher light demanding SPS and you can have a varied tank!!
