so im in the process of weeding out most of my softies beacuse im switching over to mostly sps/lps tank. ive just got 2 nice monti digitatas a green, and orange type. awsome formation they have!

so anyways i got like 5 green mushrooms on this rock were i want to place the green monti, wondering if i can remove these shrooms from the rock to grow another location, the rocks are strapped down. the shrooms are not very big since they prob get the most light of any spot in the tank.lol they fry all day.

am i correct in thinking these shrooms if made contact with the monti would burn it correct?

or could i just leave them around the new monti without worry.? highly doubt this one!

    i would help but i don't know

mushrooms are a pain to remove.

i don't think mushrooms are particularly stingy to other corals. i would just leave them but im just going with my gut

Take something like a small tip screwdriver and break the rock away below the base of the shroom, and yes they will sting other corals.

I know that hairy mushrooms bother my sps. I am not sure about green ones.

I have a hard time moving /killing them also. You can try scraping them off. If you cut them off the base will regrow in a healthy tank, usually very fast. I have totaly covered them up with other rocks and within a couple of weaks they are peaking out of the edges.

hmm dont think breaking that rock is a option, but i have done that with others...

how about a razor to peel an slice it off? , not really worried if they all dont make it , its a hitchiker coral in the prime realestate of my tank.

do think this could get messy with a razor?

well they are the green striped mushrooms according to the liveaquaria.com semi-aggressive and disc-anemone which means by by digi if it touches.

so the shrooms def got to go..

You just need to chip off a small 1/8" piece, just enough to remove base and keep them from growing back.
