can mushrooms grow on sand?

    i have a mushroom seems to be growing on sand and im just curious about how big it can get and weather or not it will die :S i havent seen it before but ill take a pic tomorrow.:eek:

    It probably won't die, but if it gets big enough it will catch the current and get blown around.
    Have you checked to see if it's attached to something below the sand? ;)

    I have a green hairy mushroom that detached itself from a rock and got blown down to the sand. It is in the back of the tank so I can't get to it. I looks as if it is doing fine. But like packleader said if you can move it to a rock.

    i have had many shrooms grow in the sandbed. the only time they blow away is i am cleaning the sandbed manually and i bump them and they get caught in the current from the power heads.

    if you plan on selling these are the easiest to pull out and frag to a small peice of rubble

    yeah i reckon that could be your safest bet!!! not sure how much sand depth there is but it might even be stuck to the bottom of the tank!!!
