Well this is more of a story. Had a naso and yellow in my tank. Took a chance and bought a purple tang. Let me tell you I did everything by the book , drip acc, waited til lights off everything. Came down this morning to find the yellow beating the crap out of tang. So I called a buddy at a LFS and asked if he wanted to trade me yellow for yellow. So he said why not. I went and picked it up acclimated it and let it go and prayed. To my suprise no aggression from either of the yellow or purple. They were even eating next to each other

So word to the wise if you are gonna get 2 of the same type tang introduce them to the tank at the same exact time!!!

That is the conventional wisdom. Good to know that it does work in some cases. Good move to trade yellows.

Your first yellow was probably the 'boss' the new yellow was a 'temp' didn't know not to make waves so to speak. They might get along for a coupe weeks then get aggressive again so keep an eye out.
