I bought a sun coral today not sure exactly what it was, the LFS didn't have an identification sticker on the tank. I offered him $20 for it, thinking he was gonna laugh at me, but he shrugged and said, deal. I didn't know the yellow color meant he was sick. I figured, whatever it was, 3reef would help me out, so how do I nurse him back to health. What do I feed him? Daily feedings are ok by me, its just such a beautiful coral and I want to get it healthy again. I have krill, bloodshrimp and squid in the freezer for current tank feedings.

im under the impression the yellow is not a bad thing quite the opposite the 1 i have that is sick because the orange colour doesnt flow from polyp to polyp thats prolly cos i hadnt been feeding it so its slowely breaking down i tryed to feed it brine shrimp today threw a seringe but im curious to try a better way the brine shrimp seem to some out the seringe and flow off in the other direction maybe i should mash it up a lil bit so its smaller and easyer for the polyps to grab hold of. allthoguh i still believe the coral while being tucked in would have taken some of the briny goodness in wouldnt it?

i am also quite new to this so i could be wrong :)

Try Mysis. They're smaller than brine.I hand feed my Duncan and other corals with a turkey baster.Abit more control with the flow. The Duncan will feed every day if you let it.Absolutely loves it.
