welcome to 3 reef Nathan, sorry its in such sad circumstances

how quickly did you raise your calcium level from 300 - 450 and what method/ substance did you use to achieve that?

3reef.com - Forums for coral reef aquariums, salt water fish, corals, inverts, protein skimmers, aquarium lighting and more - Calculators

as you can see on the calculator attached , the advice is not to raise your calc so quickly and any additions should be split over a 2 day period minimal and with a large increase like 150ppm, breaking it down into 5 or 6 segments so the increase is slow, and the creatures have a chance to gradually acclimatise to the new levels

some corals are more sensitive to parameter swings of this nature which may account for fact the corallimorphs (shrooms etc) are not showing any ill effects

the calculator should help you for any future parameter changes you make in terms of Magnesium and Alkalinity - same principles apply - dont make to big a change in a short period

those look like duncans, usually they are pretty hardy. I would give them medium alternating flow, you might want to move them back down for a bit, they might have gotten light shock if you moved them from bottom of the tank right up to the top, without slowly moving them up over a months time

I would agree with those being duncans, Look like mine when I 1st got them, I just gave them time to adjust and they are out almost 24/7 now. The increase in calcium might have had something to do with it. Not 100% though.

I prefer my duncans in the mid section and they seem to love it there.

Do you mean you raised the coral up from the bottom or you raised the Ca over a couple of days?
