So i have had my tank up and running for about a month noe. I have a few fish a maroon clown, four damsels , one tang, and some inverts. I just did a water change yesterday and today it seems like my tank is, no it is definately cloudy. Is this an algae bloom or something. If it is how do i fix it. Other than this everything in the tank is fine. Any help would be great.

What are your params? How big of tank? Feeding schedule? Lights? Cloudy could be a bacterial bloom, but need more info to help you out.

What are your ammonia, nitrite, nitrate and phosphate numbers? Also calcium and alkalinity.

Seems like too many fish too soon, a normal cycle can take up to a month to complete itself. They can be sped up if you had initially put in a good amount of live rock. After you list your params I think we can assist you better.

I'm thinking your bio-load ramped up too quickly before your beneficial bacteria could support it, and you may even be stuck in mid-cycle, hopefully not.

How much rock do you have, are you running a skimmer, do you run any type of media?

Yes I do have about 30 pounds of live rock and about a 3 inch deep sand bed in my tank. I currently am not running a skimmer but plan on getting one soon. As for my parameters I seem to be having a problem with my test kit it seems like it never turns any colors at all. Do test kits go bad?? How should i go about fixing this problem. :-/

Test kits can go bad. Usually good for about a year
