    maybe a lyretail dotback psuedo, their crazy aggressive. my friend got one "for an amazing price" and it killed 3 fish in like 24 hours. his wasn't so bright on the head though it was a dark brownish orange head so i might be wrong

    Length looks like a wrasse to me? Dunno.

    I have a pseudo and he's very long and skinny - though this guy does look pretty big.

    Look at the mouth, it's definitely some sort of pseudochromis (dottyback).

    Outside of a slingjaw wrasse, nothing in the wrasse family has a mouth like that.

    Not a wrasse..

    My guess just going off that pic alone is either:

    Pseudochromis steenei (most likely)

    Ogilbyina novaehollandiae (less common and more expensive - Australian dottyback)

    Pseudos come in many sizes... some are 5" long like the steenei

    Funny story behind the naming of steenei. It's rumored to be named after the esteemed Roger Steene. They say the bulldog look in both is very similar. I don't see it but the guys who told me the story are ones to trust..

    There are so many dottybacks out there, but the steenei looks to be the right ID.
