this might be a silly question?

when you buy a soft coral can u take them of the rock they came on? would it stress it out or will it be okay in the end?

does it depend on what soft coral it is?

deffinately depends on the coral...ive moved a few of mine with success however. Theres different tactics you can use to keep them healthy though.

Sounds like a cabbage leather and a toadstool. IIRC, the leather doesn't fare very well at being fragged, so I personally would not disturb it. Someone else with actual experience may be of more assistance on that one. The toadstool, however, can be cut into pieces to make several new ones, so I don't think moving it will hurt. I've read that placing an ice cube against the base will cause it to let go of the rock.

going to leave them both for a bit to get used to me tank first :)

Hmmm, not sure if they "spawn" or not. Typically they multiply by budding babies around the base.

No, it won't re-attach right away; you'll need to support it with some netting and rubber band for a few days, but yes it's best to let it settle in before disturbing it too much.
