They have plenty of growing to do, they have been in the tank for about 4 months, maybe 5.

But I know for a fact that I will be upgrading before the size of them becomes an issue.

How big are the tangs now?

And btw, I counted 12 fish on that list. ;)

I don't personally have a problem with the number of fish as long as the fish can get a long peacefully, you have proper filtration (mechanical/biological/chemical) to keep water parameters good and stable, and also have proper amount of swimming room.

I know I wouldn't put any tangs in your tank, but I can't say I never thought about it. Tangs are beautiful fish. But because they get so big and are so active, I think these and other larger fish just look cramped in most aquariums. So that's why I ended up deciding against it for myself.

The tang police have officially arrived. Which btw, has nothing to do with this thread. Unless in some way, those that have mentioned the tangs, are just trying to be a good cop. And not say, "dude! you can't have tangs in your tank!"

I dont think they look crowded at all here.(vid below) These fish for now, at least to me, seem very happy and healthy and are showing no signs of stress. And I chose them specifically because of their current sizes as well....But then again, I think the whale shark in the 2 million gallon aquarium looks cramped.....just saying

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Your tank is healthy the fish look healthy, it's your tank, it's not unreasonable for the size of the tank and the size of the tang. Honestly the best judge is the look of the tank and the fish. You are a responsible reef keeper, everyone knows that, that reads your post.

It's a beautiful tank, keep on keeping on, and ignore the distractors.

First of all seano, you have a 29 gallon tank. I'm not sure why you ever even remotely thought about a tang in your tank.

Second of all, I have yet to see anyone ask for the dimensions of the OP's tank. I have no idea what the dimensions are on an 85 gallon tank, and therefore have no right to question his fish choices. I personally don't see anything wrong with his fish choice. The tangs are of different body types, and both are smaller tangs.

I don't see anything on that list where you would have issues anyway.

I don't see where seano mentioned that he wanted to put a tang in his tank. I don't have a tank large enough for a bamboo shark, but that doesn't mean haven't researched them or am unable to post useful insight.

I'm sorry did you want us to post our opinions on your fish? A little confused why you asked for our opinion then slam us for doing it.Btw Tang police and people who care about fish are the same thing.IMO Over crowding and aggresion usually go hand and hand so not sure why our concerns about the mature size of your fish would be considered not on subject.

He said that bc they get big and are so active, he feels they looked cramed in a lot of aquariums, and that was the reason he decided not to get one himself. As far as I know he has a 29 gallon tank. So therefore if he was making a decsion not to get a tang for himself, I would assume that he was deciding not to put one in his 29 gallon. I was stating that anyone with a 29 gallon tank, should never even entertain the thought of getting a tang. If anyone wants to tell me that is a false statement I would LOVE for them to do so. I never said he should not address topics concerning tangs, and I encourage him to share any information or opinions he may have about tangs. So I'm not really sure where you got that from.
