No, I have nothing to say against it, I have just never heard anything about more penetrating power... I'll have to ask Tom, they have essentially the same SLRs...

So I guess now I need to deside between the IC t5 4 Bulb that is OD AT 85 Watts per bulb. That would give me 340 watts for my 90g and would end up being 3.7w per gallon, or gow with the Tek 6 bulb with WH ballasts and have 324w giving me 3.6 watts per gallon. The IC would be at the t op of what they could do, but I could always add a IC ballats to the tek light to make them OD for more watts in the future.
Just don't know what to buy! Don't want to get the wrong thing and then buy again!
What does everyone think they would do or get? (even something dif.)

I can personally tell you I also know how it is to wonder 'Am I getting the right lighting?'
When I started looking into my retro I was hearing I would need to OD 8 lamps or run 10 lamps.... So I continued to look, I saw a couple pics of the Aquactinics Constellation on 180s and other 6' tanks and thought '14 3' lamps?'... That is essentially 7 5' lamps... Why would I want to replace 14 lamps every year!!!??? So I figured if these guys were growing SPS on the sand with that fixture than adding another 80 watts (5'er) then I should really be set. So my 8 5'ers is a little more powerful than say the Constellation which I have seen grows coral well. I then felt confident in my choice to use 8 ND lamps.
For me it has worked great. Maybe in the future I will try something else but I will try different lamp combos before I fool around spending $$ on IC ballasts or having to rewire it.

Look around, check out other tanks and see what you like, check out the Aquactinics forum as well as the IC's on RC people post pics there....

    Good luck!
