can you buy just a lighting hood?

Is it possible to buy a lighting hood for a 48" tank? what do they cost?

I was thinking of potentially getting an icecap ballast and using those nice flip up and down lighting hoods for the bulbs and caps etc...

I just haven't seen any yet.

Sure you can order a hood P/M I'll show you what we have or what ever you want to match a stand or furniture .. In house cabinet maker does ours in the Richmond Va. shop Or I'll put you right intouch with them there.

 

DIY is really easy.....just screw lights to top hood and install fans.....

 

YEa your local LFS should sell em

Dont worry, you can buy prefab hoods online, but they are more like fixtures (aluminum with lights and equip built in) You could buy a hood (wooden box that goes on top) and just buy a retro kit (all components needed to turn hood into a hood with lights
