Can you dip acans?

I do not have much experience with acans.. Can they handle a dip? I have kent lugols solution. Should I drip assimilate them?

 

Im not totally sure about lugols but I dip mine in coral rx. I dont see any reason why they couldnt be dipped in lugols.

 

Do you drip assimilate them too?

 

It depends on the condition I get them in. When I order some online and they come to my door in less than perfect condition I drip them. When I buy some locally I usually just acclimate by slowly switching out about 75% of the water in the bag it came in. Then dipping it and then adding it to the tank.

 

What order does everyone do it in when they get a new coral? Do you:

A) Drip assimilate and then iodine(or other dip) then rinse.. then into the tank

or


B) Just Iodine dip and then put right into tank?

or do you guys do other things?

Just picked up a zoa and acan frag and wondering what everybody does because we just got rid of some unwanted pests we got from not dipping.

 

I try to dip everything in CoralRX. Lug's can be a bit harsh from what I've read.

 

I float them if they were shipped in and temp is far off of the tank. Then I dip them for ~15 min in Reef Dip, then in they go. I don't drip assimilate corals.
