I was just thinking of all the weird things that come from the sea that people eat. People eat sea urchins, stonefish... All kinds of weird crap. But i've never heard of eating soft coral. What is soft coral made of? What would it taste like?

And by the way, I don't intend on eating my anthelia or xenia... I love all my corals and would never consume them...

Maybe we should buy the OP a Snickers bar.

As for the question, I have no clue.

Have you ever smelled your hands after handling them or fragging them, it reaks. I couldn't imagine what it would taste like.

I think most soft corals have at least some degree of toxins in them, at least my sps tells me so everytime they get too close to a softie, the softie wins the war everytime.

I agree., toxins in the softies would probably kill you within minutes or hours...

The toxins in palys can kill within like a minute? i think it is or something like that not sure...and thats just from getting them in a cut or an eye.

Besides the toxins, it would probably taste gross. It would be expensive, too.

you should ask a butterfly or puffer what they think.

urchin is good, but has a weird texture.
