    I'm picking this puffer up from a friend and I'm not sure what kind it is. I would like some help help identifying him so I can get some info. Any help would be a great help. Thanks

    for the meantime, I would think he would be very similar to the stars and stripes puffer and the dogface puffer. He's extremely cool

    Looks like a Map puffer,Arothron mappa. I hope you have a LARGE tank.They get immense almost 2 feet in length and grow very quickly.

    Oh cool thanks. Yeah Im turning my 180g to salt. It's the minimum tank size but will be good for a while.

    I would definitely read this article so you know what you are getting yourself into.Map Puffers will take a bite out of anything that catches their eye (including your fingers!) so keep this in mind when choosing tankmates; like the Guineafowl Puffer, it is best kept alone.

    100% a map puffer fish. Very nice. How big is it right now?

    Right now it's about 5 inches. He's very cool. A friend of mine just opened a aquarium store and this lady brought in her 50g bio cube. And gave it to him. He was in the tank. We didn't know what he was. Until now. My buddy was letting me have him for 30$ I looked at blue zoo aquatics and they start at 200$ very cool fish. Lots of personality

    Take it, although you'll probably have to upgrade the 180 once it gets big

    mappas are by far my favorite puffer. very rare and very cool. you will love it im sure. looks like it has ich though.. not a surprise though since puffers are notorious for parasites. should be fine though.
