Hello everyone! I recently recieved some live rock from a friend who was breaking down his tank. There are 4 or 5 leathers on the rocks and he didn't know what kind they were. I was hoping you guys could help. Here they are...

How long have they been in the your tank? I'm asking cause i want to know if thats the way they look when they're fully extended or they're still acclimating in your tank.

The Tank that they are in now is his tank. I basically did a 20% water change in moving the tank to my house. They looked like that everytime I saw them at his house and they have been in the tank for a week at my house and that is how they look now.

That is what I would call it. I hope you have enough light. I had a leather along time ago with one 18 watt bulb,, lets say it didnt last long. Good luck they are a hardy leather,

That I don't know as I've never kept one. I do have a friend that kept a coral that looked just like the one pictured above and he called it a cabbage so I was going on that :)
