....just wondering, some ppl say theres can survive ridiculous things but...if it doesn't open for a while is it dead? just curious or can it be "dormant" ?

Mine usually take anywhere from 3-5 days to open when adding to a new tank. I can't see any polyps for days and then one day, everything is fully extended.

oh it was just a hypothetical question sorta.... i'm curious as to how much they'd withstand....i wouldn't wanna experiment with lighting and then it die when i CAN put it in appropriate lighting....long story anyway thanks for the input so far! :)

one thing that ive found that will kill them off , is extremely high flow. ive got mine growing up my overflow, but one spot there that gets hit with that type flow, theyve receded and died off. as far as lighting goes, i think once they get accustomed to it, theyre off to the races. lol

yes you can. you can use kalk paste, bleach, acid, dry them out in the sun, maybe a nuclear blast.

but if you're just asking bc you want to experiment... I wouldn't worry at all.

I've had GSP sitting in the dark in freshwater for over a day and still open. It takes, in general, a direct and severe planned attack to get rid of.

So you can, but it's not easy.

    good luck.
