Well the title pretty much sums it up. Can you put different color morphs of an acan on the same rock where they will eventually grow and touch each other?

Will they grow into each other, and will resulting new growth take on each of their color characteristics?

each colony will retain its own coloration... there should not be any genetic exchange for mixing of colors

So you guys all think it would be ok to put different colonies on the same rock then, like zoas.

Be careful of the species, if they are different they may damage each other on the edges but no more since they have very short sweepers. The same species will be peaceful.

Neat thing about zoas is they will (or at least mine did) intermix. [IMG]

+1 to this, some acans are a bit tricky to ID between species.

You shouldn't have any problems, I've seen many rocks with multiple color morphs of acans on them. Good luck.
