How many tanks does he have? I'm starting to get curious.

I thought there were dry docks you could get for the vortechs so you can mount them in overflows.

Indeed there are. I attached a photo of one. Can't seem to find them for sale but it looks to me like its just a plastic box. You could use lot of other things for the same purpose.

Hmm, yeah. Those boxes would never fit, but it's concievable I could waterproof the vortech some other way. Plastic bag? Plasti-dip? Both? It would be an expensive mistake, though, if I tried and failed.

The better part of valor might be to mount it on the other end, where the K2 is, and see how the noise thing works out.

Oceanparadise1 - The tank is a 29. It feels a little smaller though, because the overflow takes up some room at the end.

Hey, while we're on the subject - MP10, or MP20 for this tank? I'm guessing/hoping the MP10 would do it?

You can always use the MP20, and scale back the flow. Nice thing with that is then you can upgrade and use the full capacity of the 20, or upgrade the driver and make it an mp40.

Very true but if you can only afford the MP10 it will do the job just fine.

I don't believe you should restrict airflow around the dry side of the pump, it needs ventilation for cooling. I've seen people construct custom dry boxes out of acrylic for placing them on overflows/false walls that way it would fit exactly where you would need it to.
