can you tell me what skimmer this is??

so i am getting this skimmer from a family member who i just found out is a reef addict and he is trying to explain what the skimmer is. he says its an in sump skimmer, 500$ when he bought it, used on a 125 reef aquarium, and he ordered it from germany. He is known to be a little crazy, and might not be explaining it properly so any help with this would be great. He also said it was a berlin skimmer but there are no red sea berlin skimmers for 500$. I have no clue what he is talking about. the only 500$ german skimmer i know of is the deltecs.

thats the problem.. i dont have one. its still at his house and i wont get it for another few weeks. I dont think there are that many 500$ german made skimmers out there though. I found one from red sea that was around 500$ but i dont think its the one.

 

Well is he giving it to you for free or are you buying it? Even if you are buying it for cheap it can be that bad of a deal.

 

Jump on the deal. I got a $1500 skimmer for $450 in perfect condition. Go for it.

 

I'm getting it for free. Its a good deal no matter what lol. I'm just trying to find out how good of a deal it actually is. Im expecting it to be good at 500$. I have a 30 gallon tank so even if it's not that good of a skimmer, I should be okay right?

 

im getting it tonight. ive been told it has no wires... which leads me to believe this is a recirculating skimmer which i need to hook up to my overflow to get water into it. luckily the ones ive seen online have great ratings!

 

its a berlin classic hang on. i need to get a pump for it.. does anyone know what pump they use? i cant find much info on it and the manual doesnt help much.

btw.. i wear a size 13 shoe, just a comparison
