    They are bad if they get too large some say...I believe the bigger issue is getting multiples. I have one pushing around 15" or so in my tank.. has been in there since I started reefing.. he comes out every couple months and is a few inches longer. I have not had any issues (yet) lol. He does worry me a little.

    I have had even small ones go after corals and clams on numerous occasions now. If I see them, they are eliminated. Just my 2 cents

    Don't they dig in the rocks, which can weaken them?

    I would just take him out now. He doesn't add anything to the clean up crew you can't get with a hermit crab.
