i just got my new candy cane literally an hour ago, just fed the fish, and now he has his feeders out, do i need to spot feed, i worry about his temporary placement because its farily close to the vortech is it ok to leave him here for a little bit while i have him adjust to my lights and find a new place for him on a different rock?

It is reacting to the food in the tank and probably has captured some. No more food needed. They do fine on light alone. It will be OK for for a short time until you move it.

Although 2in10 beat me to it, I will add that it is really cool to watch them eat!

ok makes sense because i pour the food right in front of the powerhead to make it spread across the tank so with it being close perfect spot to catch some food, i think ill only need to light acclimate it for a day or two so hopefully it wont get too pissed off for the its going to be in the spot

i was surprised to see the tenticles come out, its like wow that was fast at least i know its healthy if its already catching some food

That is a great sign, it also means that it was fed at it's stopping points before you bought it.
