10 and steve.. THANK YOU !!! I will keep a close eye on my calcium level even more now... I'll have to frag those puppies and hide them from the clowns... I already had to hide my hairy mushroom in the back.

make sure polyp extension is good and don't hide them too deep. but clowns will try to host in all sorts of things. When I fraged my candys it took some muscle to break apart. Maybe persons tank was low on cal. while they were growing. but good luck and hope they make it.

I noticed one time when my calcium was low, the polyps on my candy cane coral were not extending at night. I fixed the calcium but it took several weeks until they started to come out again.. How about your coral. Does it extend it's polyps after the lights go out? Check the coral with a flashlight maybe 3 hours after the lights are off.

Also, if the head looks like it's doing ok, try to mount it on a piece of rock or frag plug.

I just bought a pair of O. Clowns, and one of them looks like it is trying to host a green hairy mushroom I have. I'm kinda worried though because they are known to gobble up fish.. This mushroom is about the size of a small dinner plate!!!

Also, check your magnesium and alk levels. The three work together, and with low magnesium the corals can't use the calcium. They will grow new skeletons with proper water quality, I've seen it before.

Ain't that the truth. I bought a frag with about 5 heads on it about a year and a half ago. Now the colony is bigger then a softball and has over 60 heads!!
