I have a 55 gallon tank and was wanting to get a canister filter.
    What brand would ya'll recommend?
Which is the most user friendly and easiest to clean?
    Thanks

I recently got a Fluval 405. It works well, and is very quiet. It is easy to clean and has plenty of extra compartments for running different things through it, phosban etc. Also, i was told fluval is the easiest to get replacement parts for. I am happy with it, it was a good purchase.

I have been looking at the FX5. I know its rated for a pretty good sized tank but it looks pretty neat and if I ever wanted to upgrade I want to make sure I buy stuff big enough for my upgrade.

Fluval cannisters are great IMO - I run 2 internal ones for carbon and phos guard on my 75, I have run a number of the external ones (dont recall the serial numbers) and have never had any concerns, easy to prime, and keep primed , and as long as they are routinely rinsed in old tank water, you dont experience much loss of flow over a long period

Ehiem, yep I have also used a couple of their products and again can only say I was happy with quality and performance

FX5 - its a great looking unit and one I doubt you would regret going for judging by the specs I have looked at for it

I have a marineland C-360 and I love it. Its quiet and easy to clean and can handle 100+ gallons! Truel one of the best out there! The trays allow different media and the ease of installation is great.
