Yeh, that's cool. I used that type hood before, you can cut the plastic in the back to allow for the skimmer. I use metal cutters, they seem to do the job.

 

I cut the plastic on the back and it wasn't quite enough. I then tried to cut deep into what I thought was either plexi glass or plastic portion of the hood where the light sit on top and cracked it. Turns out that was really glass.;D

Needless to say I picked up a all glass canopy at lunch time today. It looks like I should be able to just fit in on there backwards setting the leaving one propped up to accomodate the skimmer. If not I'll just take it back and go topless until I get better lights.
