Basically money forced me(good thing) to take it very very slow.

When i got the tank, I filled it right away with water to check for leaks, left it running for 4-5 days standard fresh water. On the 6th day I added salt. 2 weeks later I added 40lbs of sand. From their on out every paycheck(2weeks) i added 20lbs of sand. untill I reached the 160lbs of sands.(took about 3 months. At this point I added all my old (dead)rock from my 29gallon tank.

I then went snorkelling and brought home 100 blue legged hermits and about 200 snails. 2 weeks later I went and bought a tiny, tiny all yellow damsel that has been in my tank since then and 1 single true perc clown fish I took from my brother

Over the next 2 months I added about another 25lbs of live rock. Installed my lights around this time. 6months ago i brought home an all gray damsel that I cought and I bought a Panther Grouper that I always wanted.

So here I am up to this point. I have never had 1 single algea bloom or outbreak. And coralline is growing up the wazoo :).

On thing I do do is every 3months I go back out and collect abour 50-60 snails to replace the snails that have died or been eaten by the hermits.

I am planning to hopefully upgrade to a 125gallon tank soon, just trying to find a good deal :)

Mine is just in there. At first I didn't know what it was and if it was good. Daniel said it was good and my tank is happy. I just think it is great look in a tank. I haven't done anything that someone hasn't told me would be ok except adding coral here and there. I have it on everything. I have done only one water change with RO water, the others since I didn't know where to get it I started refilling a little here and there for evaporation with tap water. Other than that I haven't done anything! Glad I am doing it right!

I have it everywhere! On the powerheads, on the back glass. I scrape it off the front and sides so I can see into the tank. I have had the tank up 2 months. I did add some new base rock (dead and white) and I'm interested to see how long it takes that to seed (since it's growing on my not very porous powerheads).
