    Well, using AV will let you set the aperture, but it'll adjust the shutter speed for you automatically to get the same exposure. Changing the aperture allows you to get different levels of "bokeh", or the blur in the background of the picture. Higher aperture numbers will get you a sharper background, while lower values will get you more blur.

    As for shutter speed, that'll change automatically for you on that setting to get you a standard exposure. That's also something to try playing around with, though; lots of times I'll turn the shutter way down to a few seconds (sometimes 15+), and leave the aperture really small (20+), and you get a really sharp focus for a bigger range than you would with other settings. It makes it really easy to get good shots of chalices and other corals that don't have any movement to them.

    Those are nice. Like everyone else posted, beautiful chalice, I like it when the spill into each other, like the one image, great colors.
