cant get any good pictures

    You should have a selection in your menu for macro. It have an icon that looks like a tulip or something similar. Use a tripod or anything solid and place the camera on the solid objects.

    ya i have it on macro i think i need to invest in a tripod i just dont think it can manually focus which is the main problem

    Yeah that camera will auto focus unless you tell it not to. it's another setting. You may have set it to manually by accident.

    With the camera I use, a Cannon Rebel SLR, forget the exact name, I always use manual mode. That way, you can adjust the white balance or do a custom one, adjust the fstop, shutter speed etc. I don't use the macro mode b/c it has a flash automatically which I haven't been able to take off, so I stick with manual. For myself, maybe only one out of every 15-20 pictures will be really good. It's weird b/c I can take the same pic over and over then that one time, everything was right and you get a great picture.
