My aquatic life mini 115 is a good skimmer, it pulls out a whole lot of skimmate, but it looks like ice tea. I have tried lowering the outflow... and nothing. I have tried changing my tanks water levels... and nothing. Any advice to get the skimmate darker would be much appreciated.
    Thanks

how long has it been running jeffers0n?

they can take a week or so to break in properly and when they do the skimmate normally gets darker IME

my Reef octopus and Deltec before that where the same, light tea coloured for a while
and without any adjustment, the colour of the skimmate gradually darkens up as the units efficiency increases

I've had mine for almost a year and never been able to get anything other than wet skimmate. It pulls a lot of junk into the neck but it's not super consistent with what goes into the cup.

I also have a low bioload so I just always assumed that was one reason. I paid $30 for it on craigslist and it was new in the box so I certainly can't complain! Great skimmer but it's true you get what you pay for.
