Most shrimp require stable water conditions that a tank that young cant provide.

What size tank, what fish are in it? And where did you get the tank, new or used? If it was used, there is a chance someone could have dosed copper :-/

Are you dosing anything? Your calcium and alk seem high for 1.024 salinity. Not that those should affect shrimp or snails directly. Can you test magnesium?

Gosh it sounds like copper to me. Cleaner Shrimp are actually pretty hardy critters as well as those snails but they all seem to be the first to go when copper is present. Is there a possibility that this tank has ever had copper in it. From freshwater days, possibly.

Leave the purple up, alone. As long as your alk, ca and mag are all in good range; you will not need to use that stuff. My tank is completely covered and it's only 6 months old now and I have never thought of using that purple up stuff.
